Health experts recommend we all eat less salty food to stay healthy. As a guideline we should aim to have no more than 6g of salt a day, although children should have even less than this. Start by ditching the salt pot so you're not tempted to add the white stuff to cooking and meals. Then start looking at the labels on foods and choose ones that contain the least salt (or sodium).

Very good idea. Please also think that some of your products should go sugar free too as there are milions of people suffering with diabetes in this country.

I am completely with you there Christine. I have completely stopped using salt and I don't miss it at all. It took just a few weeks to get used to and whilst I understand that salt and pepper can enhance the flavour I think I now prefer a completely natural food flavour.

This is the best guide line I've seen. I stopped using salt all together. I don't miss it. The drugs I was taking gave me to much to start with. Now I'm off those & I feel much better.

I already use virtually no salt. I use saucepans that cook with steam so the vegetables have far more flavour. We don't miss salt at all.
