This exercise is called the Frog Curl because the position you lie in resembles a swimming frog. It's great for toning up your tummy and your inner thighs in one simple exercise!
Start by lying on your back with your legs stretched out. Put your hands behind your head and let your elbows drop out to the side, close to the floor. Keeping your feet together and on the floor, move your feet closer to your body so your knees are lifted at a 45 degree angle. Let your knees fall open to the sides with your heels together and your ankles in line with your lower legs. Inhale and press your tummy in towards your back.
Without moving your pelvis, exhale while lifting your head up 45 degrees into a curl. Feel your abs tighten from your lower tummy up to your ribcage.
Go back to the starting position and repeat the exercise 4 to 8 times, depending on how you feel. If you keep doing this exercise in future, ideally you'll be working up to two sets of between 8 and 16 repetitions.
Nicki's Tip: You might find this open leg position difficult at first if you don't have much flexibility in your inner thighs. Don't worry though, just try relaxing your upper body after each repetition, keeping your legs out to the side. This will gradually stretch your inner thigh muscles, toning them up too!
