Go with the grain

White bread and baked produces such as French sticks, croissants and crumpets are nowhere near as nutritious as wholegrain products such as wholemeal bread, pittas, wraps and rolls. The fibre in wholegrains really can help to keep the digestive system healthy, important if we want our tummies to look and feel at its best. Better still, the grainier the texture, the more you'll need to chew and that will help to slow you down, ultimately putting less strain on your digestive system.

I am really craving carbs at the moment - autumn is nearly upon us and it's getting chilly. I want thick soups and crusty bread! It's nice to know that it's not all bad though. I'm definitely going to stick to wholegrain bread this season and stay away from the dreaded white carbs!!! *Susannah
