Don't be fooled into thinking all salads are healthy when you're ordering one in a restaurant or buying one from the supermarket. Ingredients like mayo, salad dressings, croutons, crispy bacon and cheese mean you can end up with a dish with more calories than a steak and chips. The more veg you have, the more fibre you're salad will contain and that's great news for your digestive system, which needs fibre to keep it healthy and give it all the TLC it needs. For a more substantial meal, look for salads that include pasta, rice or couscous. Prawns, salmon and tuna make great accompaniments, too.

This is very true. Many of us are fooled into thinking all salads are equal, but this is defintely not the case! Remember to always read the label, otherwise you could end up consuming more calories than you bargained for!
