Keeping a diary is a great way to start writing, and writing things down has proven stress and health benefits. It’s very cathartic and can help to release any tensions or thoughts you might have. When writing your diary, jot down not just what you do but what you think about it, or how you feel at the time. Diaries are are not only thought-provoking to write, they’re also great fun to look back on and will undoubtedly remind you of interesting things in your life that you might have otherwise forgotten.

This is a lovely idea. Every year I plan to start a diary, and I usually commence in the run up to Christmas but then never seem to carry it through by the end of January! I wonder if I will ever change! At least it gets me thinking for a while about goals and plans before the New Year, which can only be a good thing! Respect to all those who write everyday and stick to it! ;)

this is a good idea , but i dont think the point is to record every day things like appointments and prices etc , more for how you are feeling and what maybe triggers negative feelings , behaviour such as comfort eating

I write my diary every day. It is very useful as a reminder for appointments etc.I keep records of prices of goods, its interesting to see the way the cost of things changes over the years.
