Love where you live

Rebekah's lifestyle tip : Love where you live

There are lots of ways to look for fun or interesting things to do in your local area. It could be as simple as looking on a map for buildings you haven't noticed properly before, or walking round a park you haven't explored. Or you could look online (local forums are a great place to start if you have one) for a local bar or restaurant you've never been to, comedy in a local pub, a yoga session in a village hall, or a knitting group in a local café.

Since reading this a few months ago I have made a conscious effort to shop locally, go to events nearby and have found regular classes too. Not to mention take advantage of the local parks and tennis courts. I now really feel like I'm part of a community, which makes for happier living!

There are lots of local events going on at this time of year - agricultural shows, festivals, horse shows and gigs. It's a great way to meet local people and sample local produce! Try and find one near you and tell us how you got on! Susannah
