Ingredients

  • 200g pasta
  • 1tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 large can chopped tomatoes
  • 2tbsp tomato puttee
  • Fresh basil
  • Black pepper
  • 2tbsp Parmesan cheese
  • 2 bowls of fruit salad

Pasta with tomato sauce

Pasta with homemade tomato sauce

Cook 200g of pasta according to the instructions on the packet, drain and set aside. While the pasta is cooking, heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a non-stick frying pan. Then chop 1 onion and crush 2 cloves of garlic. Add to the pan and fry on a gentle heat for around 3-4 minutes until the onion is soft. Then add 1 large can chopped tomatoes, 2 tbsp of tomato purée, a handful of fresh basil and some freshly ground black pepper. Simmer for around 10 minutes until the sauce is thickened. Add the pasta, mix thoroughly and divide between 2 plates. Sprinkle 1 tbsp of grated Parmesan cheese over each plate and serve with salad. Follow it up with a bowl of fruit salad each.
